Privacy policy
Last updated 21 July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Resumeon (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use the Resumeon website and application (the “Service”). By using Resumeon, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information we collect
- Account information. Authentication is handled by our identity provider, Clerk. We receive your name, email address, and a unique account identifier. We never see or store your password.
- Resume and career content. This is the information you enter into your resumes, cover letters, career journal, and related features, including work history, education, contact details, and any text you provide. You supply this voluntarily and you control it.
- Payment information. Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, our payment provider. We receive confirmation of your purchase, your plan, and limited billing metadata. We do not receive or store your full card number. Your card details are handled entirely by Dodo Payments.
- Usage data. We collect basic technical and usage information such as feature-usage counts, log data, device and browser type, and approximate location derived from your IP address, which we use to operate and secure the Service.
2. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- provide, maintain, and improve the Service;
- save your resumes and content so you can return, edit, and export them;
- process payments and manage your subscription and plan;
- enforce plan limits and prevent abuse;
- provide customer support and respond to your requests;
- secure the Service and protect against fraud or misuse; and
- send you essential service communications about your account, billing, or security.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your resume content to advertise to you.
3. AI-powered features
Several features rely on artificial intelligence: resume generation and rewriting, the ATS checker, job match, and the AI interview coach. When you use one of these, we send the relevant resume or job-description content to third-party AI processing providers solely to generate the output you requested. That content is used to provide the feature you asked for; it is not used by us to train our own models. AI output can be inaccurate or incomplete, so we encourage you to review it before relying on it.
4. How we share information
We share information only with service providers who help us run the Service, under contractual confidentiality obligations:
- Clerk, for authentication and account management;
- Dodo Payments, for payment processing and subscription billing;
- MongoDB and our hosting providers, for database storage and infrastructure;
- AI processing providers, to power the AI features described above; and
- analytics and advertising providers, namely Google, Microsoft, and Meta, as described in the Cookies section below.
We may also disclose information where required by law, or where necessary to protect the rights, safety, and security of Resumeon and its users.
5. Data retention and deletion
We retain your resume content and account data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from the account settings page; doing so removes your resumes and exports from our active database within 24 hours. We may retain limited records, such as transaction records, where required for legal, tax, or accounting purposes.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise most of these directly in the app by editing or deleting your content and account. For any other request, contact us at support@resumeon.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.
7. Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to operate the Service.
We also use third-party cookies for analytics and advertising. Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity help us understand how the Service is used, and Clarity records session replays of how pages are viewed and used. The Meta Pixel measures the performance of our advertising and may be used to show you ads on Meta platforms.
You can block these with your browser settings or an ad blocker, and the Service will continue to work.
8. Security
We protect your data with industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit, access controls, and trusted infrastructure providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to notify you of material incidents where required by law.
9. International data transfers
Your information may be processed on servers located outside your country of residence. Where it is transferred, we take steps to ensure it remains protected in line with this policy.
10. Children
Resumeon is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the date above. Where a change is material, we will communicate it as appropriate.
12. Contact us
If you have questions or requests about this policy or your data, email support@resumeon.com.
